About Moreland MS Sports

Moreland School District offers Moreland MS students the opportunity to participate in an organized after-school sports program within the West Valley Athletic League.

The District and MEF do not charge fees for after-school sports participation; however, we request that each family make a meaningful financial donation when registering their child for each athletic program. Donations pay for coaching stipends, new equipment and uniforms, transportation costs, referees, and other related expenses. All donations are made to the Moreland Education Foundation (501(c)3); therefore, all contributions are tax-deductible and available for corporate matching.

If you cannot make a donation, or wish to make a corporate match, please contact the athletic director or school office for the appropriate promo code.

The Athletic Director or Coach will share details regarding practices and meets/games before the start of the season. If you have immediate questions, please contact Moreland's Athletic Director or Administrator:

  • Boys Basketball MMS

    Moreland MS basketball is a cut sport open to 6th through 8th graders. Athletes will compete in a seven-game round-robin style season to earn a seeding for the single-elimination West Valley Athletic League playoffs. All games are approximately 1 hour in length. MMS 7th & 8th graders will practice and play home games in the Community Center Gym, and the 6th grade team will use the Moreland MS Multi-Use Room.     Cross Country MMS

    MMS cross-country is a non-cut sport that is open to 6th through 8th graders. Athletes will compete in four meets to prepare for West Valley Athletic League Finals. All races are local and approximately 1.5 - 2 miles in length. If you cannot make a donation, please contact the athletic director or school office for a promo code.
