Do you love to sing, dance, or all three?  Then get ready to take the stage in the Starting Arts Theater production of Matilda, Jr.!  This is your chance to be a part of a magical, high-energy show full of heart, humor, and unforgettable music.  Whether you're a seasoned performer or trying theater for the first time, there's a place for everyone in this production.

General Info:

Matilda, Jr. follows the tale of a remarkable girl with astonishing wit, intelligence...and a few special powers! Matilda is stuck with parents who don't understand her and a school ruled by the terrifying Miss Trunchbull, who really doesn't like children. But with her courage, cleverness, and the help of her kind-hearted teacher Miss Honey, Matilda just might be the hero her classmates need! 

Grades: 6th-8th
Start Date: September 15th, 2025
Rehearsal Days/Times: Mondays AND Thursdays, 3:00pm-4:30pm
Mandatory Tech Rehearsals: December 1st, 2nd, AND 3rd (3-4 hours after school)
Mandatory Performance Dates: December 4th-5th, 2025  

Cost: $250 (Financial assistance is available for those that qualify) 

All weekly rehearsals take place at Latimer, but tech week and performances will be held at MMS. 

Performers can miss a maximum of 3 rehearsals and all tech rehearsals/performances are mandatory. Students must be available for both days of rehearsal each week and must stay for the rehearsals’ entirety.

Please note: You are registering your child for the waitlist. If you child is selected to participate in the class, their name and information will be moved from the wait list to the class roster. You will be notified if your child is placed in this class.
